Necklace

Peyote
over the end 4 beads only until this side piece measures about 3/4 inch.
Add 16 beads beside this piece forming the top of the inside of the frame.
|
Bead
across these 20 beads for a few rows until you have the frame top. Work
your thread down to bottom edge to add the other side of the frame. Use
the 4 edge stitches to bead the other frame side until it is the same
length as the first side. Attach to bottom frame like the other edge.

Stitch
up the sides: Stitch into a side bead and pick up a new bead and stitch
into the adjacent bead. Continue up the side. Repeat on the other side.
This extra bead covers the thread.

Stitch
into 2 beads in the top back of the frame edge. Work in herringbone 2
stitches long enough to go around your neck and attach to other side of
the top back of the frame. Each herringbone you will come down through
the second bead and then back up through the first bead beside it and
up through the top bead. (this is just like a step up) The extra thread
through the beads will add strength to the necklace. Or see alternative
choices below.

You
can wear this frame backwards and embelish the backside of the frame.
Or you can wear this frame pointing outward and embelish the edges of
the frame. Or just wear it plain.
