LESSON #12 DIFFERENT STITCHES FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE and LITTLE TOP WITH OPEN STS.
OBJECTIVE: think texture with color AND learn new sts for different uses
DRAWING TO EXTEND YOUR THINKING IS GREAT You don't have to draw so that anyone else can understand it..........just for you. Even if you are great at drawing, doodling will extend your ideas and if you tried to keep all these thoughts in your head you couldn't. After you finalize your idea then you or someone else can draw for graphic communication.
When we awaken from our dreams we usually can't remember what we saw. If we would draw or write it down quickly , before our left brain wakes up fully then later we can remember our dream. Ideas come like dreams and lots of times we are in the middle of something else but a tiny sketch or word will help us later when we have time to design and write or draw our ideas.
Left brain counts calories of food
Right brain enjoys the taste and color of food

Multiple of 12sts plus 3.
Cast on for desired length and knit one row
Row 1 (Right side) K1, ssk, *k9, slip 2-k1-p2sso;
Row 2 k1, *p1, k4, (k1,yarn over, k1) in next stitch, k4; repeat from *, end p1,k1.
Rows 3 and 4 Repeat rows 1 and 2
Repeat all 4 rows
This makes a zig zag edge both beginning and ending. Side edges are straight.
ssk( slip the first and second stitches knitwise, one at a time, then insert the tip of the left-hand needle into the fronts of these two stitches from the left, and knit them togethr from this position.) If you want to just slip 1, k1, psso you slip 1 st with yarn in back, knit 1 stitch and pass the slipped stitch over the knit one.
Sl2-k1-p2sso is a double decrease worked from the wrong side of the fabric and is the corresponding opposite of sl2-k1-p2sso. Turn the work over slightly, keeping yarn in front, and insert the needle from the left into the back loops of the second and first stitches, in that order, as if to p2 together-back; do not purl these stitches together, but slip them, both at once, from this position. Purl the next stitch on left hand needle, then insert left-hand needle point into both slipped stitches as once and draw them together over the purled stitch and off right-hand needle.

Reminder:
KNIT OR PURL INTO BACK OF ALL STS - MAKES IT MUCH MORE TIGHTRAG KNITTING
NEED 6 TO 8 YARDS OF MATERIAL TO CREATE A SHELL
AS YOU KNIT HANG UP SO IT WILL SETTLE IN AS YOU ARE KNITTING
WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED---DON'T HANG IT UP
1/8" WIDE=#3-5 NEEDLE
1/4" WIDE= #5 UP
1/2" WIDE = #8 UP
3/4" WIDE= #10 NEEDLE
FREE KNITTING:
Just cast on, knit or pattern, bind off, pick up more stitches, knit, purl or pattern, change color, hold several yarns together. Knit it all using your favorite pattern stitch but change color and texture. Take a pattern from a book cast on more or fewer stitches than it says and you will be creating a new pattern. Bind off 1/2 your stitches and pick up some more. Pick up stitches across the face of your knitting, creating a ridge or flap. Cut holes in your knitting. There are no limits. You cannot make a mistake.
Nothing is impossible.
